What is there to do in Sisters?  The number one question after, where are the restrooms, asked in our visitor information center.   Well, here's a partial list to get you started. See also Events & Recreation.

Art Galleries - Sisters is home to over a dozen galleries and many more artists, visit a gallery or shop to appreciate the wide variety of art available in Sisters.

Antiques - Perfect for the treasure hunter.  Sisters has several shops to browse.

Birding - The Sisters/Camp Sherman area is prime birding country.  Eleven species of woodpeckers nest between Santiam and McKenzie passes, including Lewis's, White-headed, and Bleck-backed, plus all three western sapsuckers.

Dee Wright Observatory - At the summit of McKenzie pass is a viewpoint like no other. Built out of volcanic rock in the midst of a gigantic lava flow the Dee Wright Observatory (named for its builder), provides unusual perspective views of seven Cascade peaks and historial information about the volcanic eruptions.

Head of the Metolius - The spot where the Metolius starts out of the ground and becomes a river.

Llama ranch - Central Oregon is the llama capital of the United States.  See these gentle creatures, learn about them, see how their wool is harvested and used to make sweaters, scarfs and hats.

McKenzie Pass Oregon Scenic Byway - McKenzie Pass, or Hwy 242, is one of Oregon's designated Scenic Byways.  Open seasonally, the McKenzie pass offers spectacular scenery from Sisters to the McKenzie river and back on a two-hour scenic driving loop.  Along the way, you can visit small high lakes, waterfalls and ancient lava flows.

Pamper Yourself - Get a massage (choose from 8 different versions), facial, pedicure, manicure, wrap, or package of treatments to nourish and energize body and soul.

Sisters Historical Walking Tour - Visit the old Hotel Sisters built in 1912, or the Hardy Allen House,  sidewalk engravings, the Leithouser General Store, the original Sisters library, or the Camp Polk cemetary.  Pick up your tour map at the visitor center.

Special Events - Sisters is the events capital of Central Oregon.  Arts and Crafts festivals, the annual Outdoor Quilt Show (the largest in the world), the Sisters Rodeo, and Sisters Folk and Jazz festivals, and so much more!

Three Creeks/Mt. Washington/Three Sisters Wilderness areas - Explore the wilderness areas surrounding Sisters.

Unique Shops - Unique gifts.  Find the perfect gift - available only in Sisters.

Watch a Movie - Sisters now has its own Movie House with four screens and first-run movies, or grab a video and some popcorn and take it home.

Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery - Atlantic salmon, brook and rainbow trout, and kokanee salmon are raised at Wizard Falls, a total of 2.6 million fish annually. Open daily.  You may even see an osprey or bald eagle swoop down for lunch!
