The popularity and livability of Sisters has resulted in tremendous growth over the past few years. Sisters' population growth is projected to be 102.38% between 2010 and 2025. This growth has created a need to take a serious look at a plan for the future. Without foresight and planning, Sisters could lose its unique character and the special qualities that make it the wonderful place it is to live and work today. The Community Visioning Task Force which consists of representatives from the Sisters Area Chamber, the City of Sisters, the Community Action Team of Sisters (CATS), Sisters School district, Sisters Ranger District, City Planning Department, and other civic-minded individuals, in association with Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) and Rural Development Initiatives (RDI), are in the process of conducting a series of community summits, a public survey, and a visioning fair to determine the communities' priorities and goals for the future of Sisters.
